Our lives are comprised of a complex network of the experiences and relationships we create during our lifetime—it is our identity. The lives of Alzheimer’s patients painfully unravel as memories and faces fade, leaving their loved ones feeling as though they have lost pieces of their friends or family.
Affetti da seeks to serve as a profound influence in the fight against this illness, as doctors and volunteers unite to combat dementia. For an organization that will surely be around for a long time, Affetti da deserves an aptly dignified logo. |
“Timeless,” “Respectable,” and “Legacy,” are all words that arise when envisioning an organization like Affetti da. For this reason, the color red was chosen for its iconic quality and a serif font seemed appropriate. The design aims to act as a visual emblem that will help carry a powerful movement forward.
The design holds many layers of meaning: the initials of the organization ‘AD’ and also a visual representation of memory loss with the silhouette of a person with a question mark. Perhaps this individual is dazed and confused, but he/ she is fully integrated into the letters. In finding the relationship between the type and art, this unison of person and organization also represents the nature of Affetti da itself and its ambition to wholly support patients and their loved ones. |
